The Middle Campus chiller plant is a 4,000-ton facility and is the first phase of a 12,000-ton capacity chilled water plan. This plant provides a much-needed capacity increase, supporting the prosperous growth on the University of Rochester Medical Center campus. The contemporary brick design responds to the campus context by incorporating cast stone accents, large expanses of glass, and metal screens. The 6,200 GSF first level contains the chillers and the pumps, with the cooling towers located on the roof. Ayers Saint Gross was a design consultant to AEI, the prime engineers.
