Ayers Saint Gross developed the master plan for this 881-acre College of Charleston property, which is under a preservation easement on the Intercoastal Waterway and Stono River west of Charleston, South Carolina. The long-range vision calls for ecologically sensitive education facilities for executives and students. Also included are field stations in the various habitats of the property. Ayers Saint Gross designed and implemented a 4.3-mile nature trail with site wayfinding and interpretive signage, the renovation of the existing artist’s studio, and the new Meeting Barn for social events, conferences, and lectures. The site provides refuge to a variety of wildlife and plant habitats.
