A comprehensive planning effort led to a design framework for buildings, open space, transportation and utilities on the University’s lakeside campus. Analysis of existing uses led to recommendations for additional growth, including health sciences development, more student housing and a new arts and humanities district. Campus renewal was suggested by replacing outdated buildings with new facilities, enhancing open spaces and enlivening streetscapes. A set of six goals, from sustainability to community connections, provided direction for the plan.
