Ayers Saint Gross developed three designs for an underused waterfront urban park situated between Baltimore’s Inner Harbor and Federal Hill neighborhood. These imaginative schemes for Rash Field suggest revitalizing its public open space with artwork, fountains, a children’s garden and playground, an outdoor amphitheater and a band stand. Bioretention areas within the park are designed to collect and filter stormwater runoff from one of the city’s most densely developed neighborhoods. Other green infrastructure includes constructed filtration to treat and improve the harbor’s water quality. Access to Rash Field would be improved with a new pedestrian bridge.
