Ayers Saint Gross, in association with the Olin Partnership, developed the winning design entry for a competition for the redesign of the main corridor along the Inner Harbor in Baltimore City. The design calls for transforming the street into a tree-lined avenue, activated with people, fountains, restaurants, shops, parks, new architecture, stimulating lighting, interactive sculptures, and site furnishings. Ayers Saint Gross completed an implementation project to help achieve the goals set by the plan. The new urban landscape includes better sidewalks, new trees and streetlights, and plantings in bioretention areas. An unsightly berm was removed that makes that block and the city pedestrian-friendly, safer, and more beautiful.
