Just outside the tall stone walls of the Nemours mansion, a new visitor center welcomes the public. The center consists of an arrival forecourt and parking area, a new museum building and a visitor orientation courtyard with a pick-up/drop-off area. While modern and clearly distinguishable from the historic landscape inside the estate walls, the materials used throughout the visitor center are sympathetic with the landscape setting and reference the material character of the historic estate: gravel walks, cut stone borders and plane tree rows.
