Howard Community College, Columbia, Maryland

VIEW PROJECT STATS
Completion: 2011
Cost: $15 million
Size: 750 spaces

Designed to accommodate 750 cars on five levels, the parking garage complements the contemporary architecture on campus. Precast concrete panels on the main facades are covered by stainless-steel mesh to relate to the vertical and horizontal elements of the structure. Stairs and elevators are distinguished by elements of textured precast concrete and curtain wall glazing. The garage is sited on a former parking lot and improves pedestrian circulation by providing new accessible walks, site lighting and landscaping.
