Currently undergoing significant change, Hawai’i Pacific University (HPU) is set to reinvent itself and the utilization of its three campuses. HPU intends to build on its downtown relationships by moving most of its academic programs to the Downtown Campus. With this move, the university will lessen its reliance on lease space, and space needs will be fulfilled to support student success. This change will lighten the infrastructure burden at the Hawai’i Loa campus, allowing it to support special events, athletics, and an expanded research role. The Oceanic Institute campus will continue to be a focus for aquaculture research along with an emerging role in workforce training.
