Ayers Saint Gross developed a citywide facilities master plan to help create a long-range strategy for school renovations and new buildings. The plan informs capital improvement strategies for public K-12 schools, and serves as a tool for decision-makers to allocate city funds in an efficient and equitable way. Part of the process concentrated on the collection of data on current conditions and effectiveness of 120 school buildings and 20 charter school structures. Another part determined where student populations are growing or declining. Based on this information and community workshops, the plan creates a roadmap for allocating resources to improve the learning environments to support student achievement.
