The Director of Operations provides the leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure that the company has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. This is a key leadership position with responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, coordinating the implementation of the strategic business plan; ensuring effective administration and management of business operations; maintaining appropriate levels of qualified staff and utilization; establishing and monitoring firm wide, office, and studio procedures and strategic initiatives (with fiscal, contractual performance and collections oversight with project managers).

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the senior leadership team, assists in the development and implementation of the strategic plan for the firm. Holds senior management accountable for the execution of strategic initiatives. Effectively communicates strategic plans, priorities, and values to all levels of staff.
  • Ensures a highly effective leadership team as evidenced by strong business performance; teamwork; success in responding to challenging and changing requirements; and a culture of positive employee morale, motivation, and commitment.

  • Partners with the CFO in the preparation of monthly assessments and forecasts of financial performance against budget, financial, and operational goals. Provide PMs with the support and resources needed to meet project deliverables timely and within budget.
  • Collaborates with leadership team in driving the firm to achieve and surpass client expectations, profitability, cash flow, and business goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of all internal processes and resolves conflicts arising between studios and their staff. Develops and monitors quality and production standards for all projects. Coordinates QA/QC efforts for all phases of project documents to ensure consistency across studios and/or offices.
  • Supports studios and offices in order to meet or exceed business objectives and performance targets. Promotes continuous improvement in efficiency, productivity, quality, innovation, and client satisfaction.
  • Ensures that approved policies and objectives are clearly understood and effectively applied by project managers through review of operating plans, programs, and expense budgets.
  • Provides timely, accurate, and complete reports on the operating condition of the firm.

Content Strategist

Baltimore, Maryland

Ayers Saint Gross is seeking a savvy wordsmith to join our team. Candidates must have a knack and love for writing, a naturally curious and inquisitive mind, and experience in blogging to achieve business goals.The Content Strategist will be responsible for developing a consistent voice for Ayers Saint Gross across all platforms – externally through our website, social media, and marketing materials and internally through our intranet, image library, and internal communications. The Content Strategist will also be responsible for writing marketing content, e-blasts, award submissions, press releases, and final report text. He or she will work closely with technical staff, marketing professionals, and graphic designers, so strong communication skills are needed.

In addition to writing, editing, and proofreading website content, this person will help develop website guidelines and will work with the entire company – across three offices – to generate new content that promotes and strengthens our brand.

IT Systems Administrator

Baltimore, Maryland

The system administrator is responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, and supporting the company’s computer systems. They will investigate and analyze the feasibility of system requirements, and recommend the design and configuration of operating systems and applications. This individual must have exceptional communications skills, and be able to explain technical information to non-technical staff.

Programmer / Data Analyst

Washington, D.C.

Studio requires someone to conduct data analysis and normalization as well as assist in the continued development, support, and use of a new planning software using MS Access and SQL. The current program is 85% developed and needs to be completed along with debugging of existing code. Additional user interfaces need to be designed and programmed. There is also thought as to converting this application to a web based program with a SQL backend. On-going maintenance, customizations, and user training are a part of this position. Normalization and analysis of project data sets need to be imported into the software for use on a variety of projects. Client project work (data analysis) is 50% of the job while project and programming/development is another 50%.
