Details about the project to expand the Baltimore Convention Center and build an arena next to it emerged Thursday during and after a presentation made to Baltimore Development Corp. directors by Donald C. Fry, president of the GBC, and architects from Ayers Saint Gross of Baltimore.
At the 36th Annual Mayor’s Business Recognition Awards Luncheon, Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake thanked the business community Tuesday for help in a tough first year in office, saying closing a $121 million budget deficit wouldn’t have been possible without such support. The annual awards luncheon also recognizes local companies for their good works in the community. This year, 15 companies were honored for their volunteer efforts, including Ayers Saint Gross.
In the early days of higher education, students and faculty lived communally, mutually benefiting from this symbiotic relationship through spirited discussions, debates, and other intellectual pursuits.
